The Role of the Electrical Technician: As an Electrical Technician, you’ll be responsible for the assembly, wiring, testing, and installation of complex electrical and fibre optic components. You’ll work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications, supporting production in a highly regulated ISO9001 environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Technician:

  • Electrical Assembly & Termination – Soldering, crimping, and mechanical splicing of electrical assemblies
  • Connector & Insert Manufacturing – Working from raw components with precision
  • Fibre Optic Terminations – Following strict quality and process standards
  • Resin Casting – Mixing and casting various polyurethane, polyethylene, and epoxy resins
  • Testing & Documentation – Accurate QA testing and result logging
  • On-Site Support – Occasionally supporting installations and monitoring (UK and international)
  • H&S Compliance – Handling chemicals and maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Team Collaboration – Assisting in staff training and upholding company values

Requirements of the Electrical Technician:

  • Qualified in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an electrical assembly role within manufacturing
  • IPC trained (Institute for Printed Circuits – essential)
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics
  • Experienced in soldering and wiring electrical connectors and assemblies
  • Comfortable working in a process-driven, ISO9001 environment
