Electrical Engineer

Barrow Upon Humber, Humberside

£40,000 – £45,000 (Flexible depending on experience)

Monday – Friday, Alternate Saturday Shift

6am – 6pm, 4 on 4 off

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our client at a truly exciting time. With significant investment being made in infrastructure, equipment and people, this is an opportunity to put your skills to use in a challenging but rewarding heavy industrial environment, while building a long-term career with progression opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reactive maintenance and repair on vessels within the port.
  • Carrying out both planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Proactively driving improvements in preventative maintenance.
  • Fault finding and resolving breakdowns quickly to meet operational targets.
  • Ensuring all electrical/maintenance equipment is compliant with standards and legislation.
  • Reporting all faults and defects promptly.
  • Proposing tactical solutions to improve efficiency and support operational growth.

The Candidate

  • AP12 Qualified (ESSENTIAL)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (working AP(LV))
  • Heavy industrial environment experience
  • Strong electrical maintenance background, with proven skills in PPMs, repairs and breakdown response
  • Solid understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Excellent electrical fault finding ability
  • Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety compliance

  • Heavy industrial settings such as construction, steelworks, conveyor-fed systems or ports
  • Comfortable working in dusty, wet and windy environments
