Are you a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor who enjoys being close to live projects and taking ownership of multiple schemes at once? Do you want autonomy, exposure to varied London projects, and a clear route toward Senior level?
A well-established specialist contractor is seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. The business delivers technical, high-value projects across London and the surrounding regions and is known for its professional culture, strong team cohesion, and commitment to high-quality delivery.
The role involves managing valuations, variations, commercial reporting, and site-based assessments across several live projects concurrently. It suits a Surveyor who enjoys working directly with site teams and clients, maintaining strong commercial control, and managing their own workload with minimal supervision.
The position is primarily aligned to live London project sites, with flexible working arrangements and occasional coordination time with the wider commercial team.
- Conduct detailed site surveys and assessments to support accurate project scoping and delivery
- Prepare valuations, variations, cost summaries, and commercial reports, supported by clear measurements, photographs, and documentation
- Price and return variations within agreed timescales to maintain commercial control and project cash flow
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to coordinate materials, labour, logistics, and programme requirements
- Review and approve invoices, monitor cost movements, and support financial reporting
- Manage commercial progress across multiple concurrent projects (typically 3–4 at any time)
- Produce and maintain survey records and cost documentation using Excel and project tools such as Bluebeam
Previous experience in Quantity Surveying within construction, commercial fit-out, or a comparable project-based environment is required. A strong understanding of installation processes or specialist construction systems is beneficial but not essential.

- Confident managing valuations, variations, and commercial communications
- Well organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working autonomously across live projects
- Strong communicator with the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and site teams
- Proficient in Excel; Exposure to technically complex, high-value commercial fit-out projects across London
Benefits include:
- ~25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays + birthday off
- ~ Private medical care
- ~ Clear progression pathway toward Senior Quantity Surveyor
- ~ Broad commercial responsibility and real influence on project outcomes
