I am currently working with a well established machinery manufacturer that designs and manufactures high quality, bespoke machinery for customers across a range of industries. Following the successful launch of a new range of equipment, the business is experiencing sustained growth, continued investment and a strong order book. They have a full order book and ambitious growth plans; they are looking to strengthen their machining team with the addition of an experienced CNC Miller.
Responsibilities of the CNC Miller
- Set and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture precision engineered components
- Load, edit and run CNC programmes to meet engineering specifications
- Work from engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Manufacture components to tight tolerances and quality standards
- Carry out quality inspections and dimensional checks on finished parts
- Produce jigs and fixtures to support machining operations
- Perform tool changes and tool offset adjustments as required
- Monitor machine performance and respond to machine alarms
- Complete routine machine maintenance checks and maintain records
- Ensure work areas and machinery are kept clean, organised and safe
- Support continuous improvement activities within the machine shop
Requirements of the CNC Miller
- At least 2 year’s experience setting and operating CNC milling machines
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of tooling, offsets and machine set up procedures
- Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances
- Experience with Hurco, Mori Seiki, VMC or similar machinery (desired)
