This is a unique opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take full ownership of mechanical design within the business.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:
- Designing new machinery from scratch
- Leading concept development, prototyping and R&D
- Taking designs through to manufacture
- Working closely with production, electrical/control panels, service engineers and project delivery teams
Key responsibilities include:
- Design bespoke machinery from concept through to manufacture
- Produce 3D models, assemblies and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor
- Lead R&D, prototyping and new machine development
- Design sheet metal and stainless-steel fabricated components
- Support build, test, installation and commissioning phases
- Collaborate with production, projects and service teams
- Contribute ideas to improve machine performance, build quality and efficiency
Requirements:
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within a machinery manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience with sheet metal design
- Experience in food, beverage or packaging machinery (desired)
Salary: £43,000 – £53,000 depending on experience
