Our client is a prominent player in the metal recycling industry. With recent investment into a new facility at Ellesmere Port, they’ve just completed their first shipment out of the site and are now looking for a reliable and experienced 360 Material Handler Driver to act as the key figure on the quay. This is a unique opportunity to be the go-to person in a high-visibility role, supporting an exciting new operation with excellent long-term progression prospects.
As the 360 Material Handler Driver, you will be the central contact point on-site, overseeing the arrival and discharge of materials, communicating directly with commercial management, and maintaining safety and efficiency standards. You will also play a key role in assessing the quality of incoming materials and ensuring stock is managed effectively.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate a high-value 360 Material Handler to unload and manage materials on-site.
- Sit in crane during material discharge; monitor and manage lorry tipping operations.
- Take photographs of incoming materials and send to Head Office, noting quality and compliance.
- Act as the main liaison on the quay, maintaining strong communication with commercial management.
- Assess incoming loads for dirt and non-compliant materials (training provided if required).
- Load processed materials onto the appropriate stockpiles.
- Ensure safe operation of all equipment, with daily checks and basic maintenance.
- Support the wider team with on-site logistics and uphold site standards.
- Proven experience operating a 360 Material Handler (not excavator), preferably within the metals or recycling industry.
- High attention to detail and an understanding of material quality standards (or willingness to train).
- Excellent communication skills — must be confident liaising with commercial teams and site management.
- Strong sense of responsibility — this role is pivotal in a newly launched operation.
- Professional, reliable, and safety-conscious.
- Comfortable using mobile messaging apps (e.g., WhatsApp) for image sharing and updates.
