Positive Behaviour Senior Support Worker
Location: BLUEJAY, Cornford Lane, Pembury, Kent
Hours of Work: Full-Time (40 hours per week) Shift work - Early and late shift are scheduled across a 7 day week, with 3 non-consecutive days off and alternative weekends. MUST BE A DRIVER AND HOLD A UK DRIVING LICENSE.
Hourly Rate: £14.56 per hour.

We provide support and care to children, families and adults across Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, Surrey and the London Borough of Bexley. Our services include registered care homes; supported living; community outreach; day services, including pathways to employment; children and young people’s groups and support; specialist support; and free online support for families and carers across the South-East.
About The Role: At Aspens, a highly regarded charity, we work across Kent and Sussex; supporting individuals with autistic spectrum conditions, learning disabilities and physical disabilities. We offer residential care, supporting living, day activities and a fantastic community outreach programme.
Bluejay is a newly refurbished PBS service consisting of an open plan kitchen, living and dining area. It has two bedrooms, both with en-suite, and there is a separate office and staff toilet. The building is also installed with air-conditioning. We are looking for a Senior Positive Behaviour Support Worker to work within a PBS framework, supporting the one individual who lives here.
Responsibilities:
- The individual who lives here would like staff who possess the following qualities:
- Would help her stay in contact with family and arrange visits
- Provide a wide range of sensory activities
- Can advocate for her, helping her to access new activities
- Having confidence to support effectively, including during times of distress
- Be able to offer full attention to her during support
The qualities that are important to the people we support are:
- Being consistent and maintaining boundaries

- Being confident and able to motivate
- Being good at de-escalating moments of stress
- Being fit and active
- Happy to participate with community activities such as badminton, swimming, football and going to the gym

This is a unique opportunity for ambitious and experienced support workers and would particularly suit anyone with an interest in Positive Behaviour Support and transforming people’s lives. You will be provided with full training and support in order to make a success of the role.
We are looking for people who are energetic, hard-working, and passionate about supporting others; you will have extensive experience of supporting people with complex needs and experience in PBS; however, we will support the right candidates to develop these skills if necessary. We welcome applications from people who have experience in adult social care and PBS, but also from anyone with a background in psychology or therapeutic interventions; we will provide additional training and accredited qualifications to develop the team’s skills.
We will support you with regular access to, and supervision with, a Positive Behaviour Support Specialist as well as with your line manager, and the opportunity to complete a L3 accredited PBS qualification.
An expectation that you will form part of the wider PBS team as part of your employment with us. We have additional PBS services on site and staff will be required to support in these when the needs of the service require it.
