Responsibilities

  • Support individuals with autism, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health issues to lead independent and fulfilling lives
  • Deliver domestic duties, including preparing ingredients and cooking healthy meals, and provide personal care as required in a sensitive manner
  • Offer emotional and behavioural support when needed
  • Assist individuals to take part in activities, be it within the community or within the home, supporting individuals to make their own choices, learn new skills to be as independent as possible and to achieve their ambitions as set out in their care plan
  • Cover a mixture of early and late shifts (including at weekends) as well as sleep-in shifts, with the option to fit in with your availability

Qualifications

  • Passionate and positive attitude towards supporting people with autism, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health issues
  • Good communication skills, including listening skills and the ability to communicate effectively using a variety of methods as required
  • Willingness to support individuals in whatever activities they choose to do, including domestic tasks and personal care
  • Flexible and willing to cover early and late shifts, including weekends and sleep-in shifts, as needed
  • Desire to learn and take advantage of the full training, support and career opportunities Aspens provides
