Job Overview: Our client is a well-established distribution and warehousing company providing reliable logistics solutions across our network. We are currently looking for an experienced Transport Planner to support and coordinate daily transport operations, ensuring efficient routing, on-time deliveries, and high levels of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and manage daily transport operations
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to optimise routes and deliveries
- Monitor transport performance and resolve issues as they arise
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, health & safety, and company policies
- Maintain accurate transport records, including shipments, schedules, and vehicle maintenance
- Support continuous improvement of transport and logistics processes
- Use transport planning systems and Microsoft Office for reporting and analysis
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a transport planning or logistics role
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Confident working with transport management systems (TMS)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Customer-focused with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
