We are looking for an experienced Domestic Gas Fitter (Band 7) to join our team, working across South Shields and surrounding areas. The role involves carrying out a wide range of domestic gas, heating, and plumbing work in both occupied and void properties, as well as public buildings and schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out 1st and 2nd fix gas and heating installations, maintenance, and replacements
  • Work independently using a multi-skilled whole job approach
  • Read drawings, measure, mark out, and organise materials required
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Conduct risk assessments and follow Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
  • Work at height and in varied environments (indoor/outdoor)
  • Maintain site safety for the public and team at all times
  • Supervise apprentices and promote high standards of workmanship and customer care

Requirements:

  • Fully trained and assessed in Domestic ACS gas fitting elements (essential)
  • Proven experience in domestic gas, heating, and plumbing works
  • Experience working in homes, public buildings, and construction sites
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Basic IT skills (handheld devices, job systems)
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and customer-focused
