Our client is looking for a HGV Driver Grade E in the NE8 Region. The HGV Driver Grade E is responsible for transporting materials, plant, and machinery to and from work sites, primarily within a highways environment. The role involves operating heavy goods vehicles, towing equipment such as rollers, dumpers, and mini diggers, and supporting on-site operatives with day-to-day tasks. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in highways work, including handling materials such as tar, flags, and kerbs, and will be comfortable working in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
Main Duties:
- Drive HGV wagons to transport materials safely to and from work sites.
- Tow plant and machinery including rollers, dumpers, and mini diggers.
- Load and unload materials and equipment as required.
- Assist operatives on-site with general labouring tasks.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Hold a valid HGV licence with relevant driving qualifications.
- Demonstrate experience in highways work (tar, flags, kerbs, etc.)
- Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.
- Be reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team.
- Show flexibility to support site operations and varied duties as needed.
