The Role

Your Impact

As a Sr Solution Consultant, you will partner with AspenTech sales teams during the sales cycle to lead the consultative discovery process with customers; craft a vision and roadmap of solutions that address customer requirements; identify differentiated value capture potential; and design implementation/sustainment programs for those solutions. This involves understanding AspenTech’s product strategy, value enablers, professional services, partners, and sales pipeline to drive opportunities where our solutions can bring significant business value.

The Sr Solution Consultant is responsible for delivering high-quality solutions and business outcomes based on AspenTech products. Demonstrating deep knowledge of solutions and offerings, you will contribute to designing complete solutions across the project lifecycle—from pre-sales to delivery—driving transformational results aligned with business strategies.

This customer-facing role requires self-motivated individuals with excellent business, industry, and technical knowledge, along with strong consultative and communication skills to position AspenTech solutions effectively.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in software/technology sales or consulting, with the ability to connect technology with measurable business value at the intersection of technology and business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop industry- and application-specific solutions for customers.
  • Lead value discovery sessions, assess customer needs, and develop tailored solutions.
  • Understand critical business issues to present AspenTech’s capabilities as the best solution.
  • Build customer-specific solutions using AspenTech tools.
  • Create recommendations, proposals, and scope of work documents for consulting engagements, identifying dependencies and gaps.
  • Advise customers on AspenTech solutions and establish credible value propositions.
  • Develop and execute sales campaigns and plans with the sales team.
  • Identify and qualify business opportunities and develop solutions to meet needs.
  • Support pipeline development, account planning, awareness sessions, and sales strategies, including deal models and business requirement plans.

What You\’ll Need

  • Proven experience in consulting, pre-sales, or professional services, preferably in energy, petrochemicals, or process industries.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing economics and ability to discuss plant processes and economics with customers.
  • Specialization in areas such as process engineering, supply chain planning, advanced process control, predictive maintenance, or digital infrastructure modernization.
  • Drive to solve customer problems and convert pipeline opportunities into deals.
  • Business and technical acumen to articulate solutions and their value.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 40%, domestically and internationally.
