The sales support provided to the global sales teams is vitally important to the smooth running of the AspenTech business. The Deal Desk Analyst is a Sales Operations function that provides best-in-class deal management support to sales, with primary responsibility to support the local regional sales team. This position is based out of the Reading regional office and is part of a Global Deal Management team, responsible for providing support during the quote to contract process. Developing strong relationships with peers and business partners is critical. An ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment is a priority.
Job Responsibilities:
- Generates both standard and non-standard quotes to support sales efforts including software, maintenance renewals and services-related orders.
- Provides support and assistance to the Sales team as needed to support the quote to contract process.
- Collaborate with Sales, Licensing and Accounting to enter customer orders.
- Administer the Authorization and Approvals policy (A&A policy) coordinating the approval process by obtaining approvals per policy and ensuring compliance to both process and policy.
- Based on sales requests, prepare quotes, review for accuracy and completeness and obtain required approvals per policy.
- Update in-house CRM systems to ensure up to date information is readily available.
- Provide general data to Finance to close orders and process them for invoicing.
- Provide support and assistance to the Global Sales Admin Team as and when required.
- Support license administration by preparing required documentation, ensuring customer requirements from quotes and contracts are accurately reflected in the license configuration details.
- Demonstrate understanding of the documentation requirements for each process.
- Ensure all documentation is secured in the appropriate system(s).
- Demonstrate familiarity with current sales forecast and provide various reports as needed.
Required Skills:
- Strong relationship management and communication skills (ability to work with and manage the expectations of business partners and understand customer requirements).
- Ability to work effectively within a geographically dispersed group.
- Ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
- Self-motivated with ability to learn complex systems quickly.
- Well organized and methodical. Detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking efficiently.
- Experience working in a fast-paced international sales environment.
- Able to work additional hours during peak periods.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working on commercial quotes, commercial/technical proposals, order preparation and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of back office business applications such as Epicor, Oracle and Salesforce.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
Language Requirements:
- English (required), second language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
