We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to manage and successfully deliver our European Operational Technology professional services portfolio. This position will allow you to utilize your professional services expertise, communication, facilitation, and mediation skills to establish and improve the European project delivery model for professional services projects.
The candidate must have the technical background and experience required to interact directly with strong technical engineers and management. They must have a proven track record in successfully managing complex power infrastructure projects, demonstrating strong leadership, strategic thinking, and exceptional project management expertise.
The successful applicant will contribute to project delivery excellence in support of utility customers in the energy generation, transmission, and distribution industries. The role will report to the Senior Director, Professional Services Europe, and is based in our Reading (UK) office.
Your Impact
- Develop and execute project plans that seamlessly align with organizational objectives and contractual commitments.
- Effectively oversee project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, ensuring precise management and accountability.
- Communicate project progress, milestones, and challenges accurately to executives and project sponsors.
- Establish and rigorously enforce project governance standards and procedures to ensure the formal closure of the project.
- Guide, mentor, and inspire diverse project teams within a matrix organization, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Cultivate and exemplify a strong business acumen within the team, proactively identifying and capitalizing on upselling opportunities.
- Deploy strategic, project-tailored approaches to risk management by implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Establish and enforce quality standards for project deliverables by conducting regular project reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project management function.
- Elevate customer satisfaction by understanding their needs, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Collaborate on customer-facing pre-sales initiatives, providing valuable support for deal and contract reviews.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the power utilities industry with depth knowledge of the power infrastructure in at least two of the following areas: generation, transmission, and distribution.
- PMP or relevant project management certification is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution skills.
- Exceptional proficiency in customer interaction and adept problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, multiple complex program engagements.
- Proven record managing multicultural technical teams within a matrix-based organisation.
- Extensive experience in the software or process within the utilities industry.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong commitment to providing superior customer service.
- Excellent English verbal and writing skills; a second language is advantageous.
- Regional travel at least 35% of the time.
