Salary: £77,711 to £135,297 | Fixed-term to 30 September 2030. Open-ended contracts will be explored with suitable candidates where appropriate to the role, any such arrangements would be subject to discussion and agreement during the recruitment process.

About the Role
We are seeking an internationally recognised Professor to accelerate research leadership in compound semiconductors. You will:
- Lead world-class research aligned to the UK industrial strategy, delivering high-impact outputs and 4* publications
- Secure major external and industrial research funding
- Supervise PhD students and mentor academic colleagues
- Build strong partnerships with industry and external stakeholders
- Contribute to teaching, curriculum innovation, and student experience
- Play a key role in strategic leadership and enhancing the University’s global reputation
About You
You will be an established academic leader currently based outside the UK (for at least the past 24 months), with a strong international or emerging global reputation. You will have:
- A proven track record of 4* publications in compound semiconductors
- Significant success in securing external research funding
- Evidence of excellence in teaching and PhD supervision
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills
- Experience contributing to institutional strategy and international standing
