The HR Assistant will provide day to day support to the HR Advisory team to deliver quality HR advisory services to employees, managers and the HR team relating to HR policy, employee relations, the full employee life cycle, and technical HR administrative activities. Key Accountabilities
  • Support HR activities to align to both business objectives and overall HR strategy.
  • Provide support for the effective execution of operational objectives for the HR function.
  • Provide administrative support to HR Advisors with performance management processes and employee relations issues in line with business requirements and Aspen HR policies, procedures, and legislation, including but not limited to notetaking in meetings, preparing memos, letters and other paperwork, and liaising with employees and people managers.
  • Advise individual employees and people managers to help them interpret HR Policy and guide them on HR related processes.
  • Provide administrative support for employee relations project delivery, as required.
  • Prepare, analyse and present people data and information to support business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with HR Advisors, the wider HR team and people managers and support building of credibility and trust of the HR function within wider business.
  • Work with HR colleagues to assist in the development of initiatives and the achievement of the broader goals of HR.
  • Assist in maintaining existing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that service delivery meets colleague expectations.
  • Support delivery of excellent Tier 0 - 2 advisory services to people managers and employees on all HR matters and escalation of any high-risk issues accordingly.
  • Partner with HR Advisors, HRBPs and COEs to use HR metrics to support delivery of appropriate action plans to address people priorities, issues, and challenges.
  • Use of HRIS systems, updating trackers and producing data as needed.
  • Participate in relevant projects to support achievement of HR and business objectives.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Graduate, ideally with HR or business-related degree.
  • Some experience of working within a corporate environment.
  • Experience of working within a HR department desirable.
  • Awareness of the insurance/financial services environment and business structure/roles.
  • Awareness of HR function role, objectives and purpose.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications; Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Able to manage conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines.
  • Able to adapt in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive situations tactfully and maintain confidentiality where required.
