Aspen Court Nursing and Dementia Care Home is a modern, purpose built care home located on the peaceful northern outskirts of Taunton, Somerset. The home provides specialist Nursing, Dementia and Complex Care for up to 42 residents in a safe and supportive environment focused on dignity, wellbeing and person centred care.

Contract: £13.21 – £13.71 per hour, depending on experience and medication training

  • Full time and Part time contracts available
  • Day shifts: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (30 minute unpaid break and two 15 minute paid breaks)
  • Night shifts: 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM (1 hour paid break)
  • Alternate weekends required
  • Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality, person centred care for individuals with complex needs, including advanced dementia, mental health conditions and other long term health challenges. You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered safely within a structured and supportive environment. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing and respond appropriately to changes, including behaviours or complex needs.

Working closely with the wider team, you will support and guide Care Assistants, helping to maintain a calm, stable and consistent environment. You will follow and review care plans, ensure accurate record keeping and contribute to effective communication with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals. This role requires a confident, calm and resilient approach, with the ability to support both residents and staff in a complex care setting.

What We Are Looking For

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
  • Medication administration training with competency
  • Experience supporting or leading a care team within a care environment
  • Confidence supporting individuals with complex needs, including mental health or behavioural support
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A calm, patient and professional approach
