We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Credit Controller to join our busy Finance team at our Chessington Head Office. This is an office-based role, and previous experience in credit control is essential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career in finance. Key Responsibilities
- Managing debtor accounts to ensure timely payments
- Extracting and analysing information from spreadsheets and reports
- Issuing customer statements, notice letters, and payment demands
- Making outbound calls to clients for payment and handling queries
- Reconciling accounts and resolving disputes
- Monitoring account balances and reducing debtor days outstanding
- Performing credit checks and placing accounts on stop when necessary
- Initiating legal proceedings for unpaid debts and liaising with courts/mediation as required
- Reviewing and handling chargebacks appropriately
- Maintaining accurate financial and administrative records
About You
- Minimum of 2 years’ credit control experience (essential)
- Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to resolve disputes professionally and efficiently
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (highly beneficial)
- Motivated to learn, grow, and progress within the team
