Location: Exeter 1 day/week on site (Tuesday)

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Daily Rate: £530/day (Umbrella - Maximum)

Supports, manages and maintains a single application or a suite of applications. They maintain services and are responsible for conducting user and security administration. Monitor applications and accountable for batch processes. In some organisations they may carry out the duties of an end user computing engineer, such as fixing technical problems, maintaining hardware and liaising with the Problem or Incident Manager.

Typical Skills:

  • Maintain secure configuration and accurate information, controlling IT assets in one or more significant areas, and verifying location and state of assets.
  • Manage service components to ensure they meet business needs and performance targets.
  • Implement changes and know how to apply change control procedures.
  • Develop process efficiency, support specific activities to improve development processes and can spot or identify obvious deficiencies.
  • Identify and register incidents allocating it to the appropriate channel.
  • Investigate problems in systems, processes and services, with an understanding of the level of a problem.
  • Assist in technical support activities and carry out agreed/routine maintenance and administration tasks.
  • Understanding of the role of testing and how it works.
  • Identify needs and engage with users or stakeholders to collate user needs evidence.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Configuring products on the Vortex platform
  • Using languages such as Handlebars.js/Moustache.js (product template logic) and Typst (product output layouts)
  • Supporting the onboarding journey of these products by collaborating with stakeholders including Product Managers and Service Delivery Managers
  • Reconfiguring these products once they have been onboarded
  • Working as part of the team
  • Manage Changes, Incidents and Problems using ServiceNow
  • Being a member of a multi-disciplinary team as it matures to support the Vortex and its users
  • Assisting with testing, verifying and providing feedback on system functionality provided by Vortex development teams when required.

  • Technical Specialism: Support technical activities and carry out routine maintenance and administration tasks.
  • Technical Understanding: Ability to develop an awareness of relevant subject matter and a high-level understanding of key concepts.
  • Testing: Execute test scripts correctly under supervision and understand the purpose and role of testing.
  • User Focus: Engage with users and stakeholders to gather evidence of user needs.
