Minimum Requirement:
- Strong OCI experience at a senior level is the critical requirement.
- Solid grounding in day-to-day BAU delivery.
This combination would enable the successful candidate to:
- Bring additional capability into the team and support upskilling of existing colleagues.
- Take on BAU operational workload, freeing others to focus on more complex or strategic activity.
- Provide support on more complex queries, including design work.
In summary, we are looking for a well-rounded individual with strong, recent (last five years) experience in both OCI and Exadata.
- Oracle Database technologies (RAC, Dataguard, RMAN Backup and Recovery) and Public Cloud Technologies (particularly OCI and AWS).
- Writing Infrastructure as Code and debugging Terraform and Ansible.
- Managing and maintaining Security procedures including:
- Implementing network segregation in a public cloud environment (preferably AWS).
- Incorporating transport encryption to protect data in transit (preferably Oracle).
- Understanding implementation of database encryption options (preferably Oracle).
- Conducting Migration Testing (preferably through Oracle and AWS) and implementing secure authentication with OIDC for GitLab runners.
- Maintaining and updating repositories with Git.
- Oracle skills Oracle RDBMS 11.2-23ai experience of supporting Oracle RAC including ASM, AFD, HANFS, TAF.
- Additional experience of multitenant, TDE and TLS desirable.
- Specifically in a Linux/Aix OS environment.
- RMAN Backup and recovery OEM, OCI's Db Management Patching and Upgrade experience.
- Track record of supporting highly available mission critical databases.
- Dataguard setup and configuration.
- Data migration tooling Datapump, Golden Gate, ZDM.
- Exadata and Base Database configuration experience in OCI.
