Occupational Therapist Functional Assessor – Burnley
Location: Burnley | Hybrid: remote and assessment centre
Overview: An Occupational Therapist Functional Assessor to assess Personal Independence Payment (PIP) claims as part of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). The role is autonomous, with some remote assessments; a comprehensive training programme is provided and is fully paid, and the role contributes to clinical hours to support your registration.
Responsibilities
- Use your clinical experience to assess individuals with a diverse range of health conditions and understand how their disability impacts daily living.
- Conduct assessments with individuals via telephone, video, or face-to-face in an office or home environment.
- Interpret medical evidence and compile findings into a comprehensive report to support DWP decision-making.
Requirements
- Applications from Occupational Therapists only; HCPC registration is required.
- At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential.
- Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work autonomously and IT competent.
