Occupational Therapist Disability Assessor

Location: Crewe

Permanent – full time or part time available (Mon-Fri)

Mixture of remote and assessment centre working, offering an exceptional work-life balance

Joining this role means working autonomously to assess claimants applying for Work Capability (WCA) as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). You will complete assessments with individuals who have a broad range of health conditions, with some assessments conducted remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Use your clinical experience to work with people who have a diverse range of health conditions to understand how their disability affects daily life.
  • Work within an office and home environment to complete detailed, meaningful and respectful assessments over the telephone, video or face-to-face.
  • Interpret medical evidence and compile findings into a comprehensive report to support DWP decision-making.

Requirements

  • We can only accept applications from Occupational Therapists for this vacancy
  • HCPC registration is required
  • You must have at least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential
  • Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and IT competency
