Overview
Use your clinical experience to work with people who have a diverse range of health conditions, to gain a clear understanding of how their challenges and the ways their disability affects them impacts their daily life. Working within an office style environment and at home, to complete approximately detailed, meaningful and respectful assessments over the telephone, video or face-to-face. Interpret medical evidence and gather your findings into a comprehensive report, to support the decision-making process by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Responsibilities
- Assess claimants who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS).
- Conduct assessments with individuals who have a broad range of health conditions, including the possibility of some remote assessments.
- Interpret medical evidence and compile findings into a comprehensive report to support DWP decision-making.
- Work autonomously across a mix of remote and assessment centre environments to deliver engagements with candidates.
- Participate in an in-depth, fully paid training programme and maintain clinical hours through the role.
Qualifications
- Qualified Nurse, Physiotherapist, Paramedic, Pharmacist or Occupational Therapist for this vacancy.
- NMC/HCPC registration is required.
- At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously; IT competency is a must-have.
- Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback.
