We have an exciting new opportunity for a highly capable Legal and Compliance Associate. The purpose of this role is to provide broad, senior-level support across both functions, helping us navigate the evolving regulatory landscape and meet the operational demands of the business.
Reporting directly to the Director of Legal and the Director of Compliance, you will play a key role in both the Legal and Compliance teams as well as adding value to the broader business.
Your responsibilities:
- Assisting with and advising the business on a broad range of legal matters, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating and executing a wide range of legal documentation such as investment management agreements, fund side letters, fund distribution agreements, software licences and other commercial contracts.
- Preparing, coordinating and submitting regulatory returns, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Advising the business on selling and marketing restrictions across relevant jurisdictions and maintaining up-to-date “rules of the road” guidance and reference materials.
- Assisting with the interpretation and implementation of new or amended regulatory requirements, including policy updates and internal communications.
- Reviewing and approving marketing materials, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
About you:
- Qualified and experienced lawyer with practical, compliance experience.
- 3 years minimum relevant experience.
- Strong experience in banking, finance and/or funds is required, including an understanding of the UK, EU and US regulatory landscape.
- An ability to strike the right balance between commercial and regulatory issues.
