As a Staff Product Manager, you\’ll be the focal point of a dedicated, cross-functional team(s), setting ambitious goals with the autonomy to define how best to achieve them. The Details
As a Staff Product Manager in the Search domain, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of how customers discover products on ASOS. You\’ll lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our search experience, ensuring it delivers fast, relevant, and personalized results at scale. This is a high-impact role that requires deep product expertise, strong technical acumen, and the ability to influence across the organization.
You\’ll work closely with engineering, data science, UX, and commercial teams to create search experiences that connect customers to our vast product catalogue, all while balancing business objectives with user needs.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the Search product strategy and roadmap, aligned with ASOS\’s broader customer and commercial goals.
  • Own the roadmap for core search infrastructure and customer-facing features, balancing short-term impact with long-term innovation.
  • Lead the development of cutting-edge search capabilities, including ranking, relevance, NLP, and semantic search.
  • Partner closely with data science and engineering teams to enhance the search algorithm using machine learning, natural language processing, and behavioural signals.
  • Use experimentation, A/B testing, and data analysis to continuously improve search relevance, conversion, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with UX and research to ensure the search experience is intuitive, inclusive, and aligned with user intent.
  • Monitor key search metrics, customer feedback, and site behaviour to identify pain points and uncover opportunities.
  • Influence stakeholders across the business by clearly communicating the impact and strategic importance of search.
  • Champion the voice of the customer and drive innovation in how search can serve and inspire fashion discovery.

Qualifications
About You

  • Proven experience leading search, discovery, or similar data-rich product areas in a high-traffic, consumer-facing environment.
  • Strong background working with AI/ML teams on information retrieval, ranking models, NLP, or query understanding.
  • Deep understanding of search architecture, common KPIs (relevance, CTR, sparse results, etc.), and techniques for optimizing large-scale product discovery.
  • A data-obsessed mindset with a track record of driving decisions through experimentation and analytics.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, capable of aligning technical and commercial teams around a shared vision.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to zoom between long-term vision and near-term execution.
  • Clear and confident communicator who can craft and present compelling product stories.
  • Highly collaborative, fostering alignment and ownership across cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and prioritizing ruthlessly in a fast-paced, agile environment.
