Job Description

Looking for a Senior Print & Graphic Designer with a minimum of 5+ years experience within the industry to join our team, with an in-depth knowledge of the Womenswear market. As a Senior Designer on Print, you will need to have a creative eye that can cover standout print across all product areas.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge across all hand and digital print techniques and experience of working with suppliers and print studios. Creativity and innovation are at the heart of product development at Topshop and as a Senior Designer you will be key in driving this for the print and graphic dept and within the wider design team. Strong & adaptable handwriting across all print and graphic techniques.

You’ll be…

  1. Overseeing, creating and driving print and graphic design across multiple projects and departments.
  2. Producing a range of different prints and graphics yourself across multiple departments. Will have confidence in producing logos, placement graphics and all over repeat prints.
  3. Having the ability to recognise and react quickly to emerging graphic trends appropriate to our target customers. Oversee and develop graphic trend boards and prints that sit within them, working closely with multiple departments and designers.
  4. Having diverse knowledge and strong ability in both hand and digital techniques.
  5. Regularly researching relevant emerging brands, graphics, illustrators, artists, etc.
  6. Analysing and interpreting catwalk as well as street style culture trends.
  7. Working in a fast-paced ever-changing environment to meet company deadlines.
  8. Having great communication and relationship building skills.
  9. Presenting print and graphic projects to the wider Womenswear teams.
  10. Maintaining a clear understanding of brand purpose and Fashion with Integrity and ensuring these principles are fully embedded within the team. Looking for opportunities to use sustainable materials wherever possible.
  11. Leading and contributing to a dynamic world-leading design team.
  12. Providing clear direction and development to the team, identifying individual training needs and encouraging collaborative ways of working.
  13. Motivating and engaging the team through recognition and regular feedback.
  14. Playing a key role in brainstorming & collating trend direction for the TOPSHOP brand.
  15. Presenting trend research and having strong influencing skills to ensure you are the design voice for the department when working closely with Buying, Merchandising and Commercial leadership.
  16. Collaborating across departments and other functions of the business including Marketing, to ensure the design vision is communicated clearly.
  17. Identifying and executing new product opportunities to ensure as a brand we are leading the fashion market not following.
  18. Contributing to business-wide initiatives and projects, positively influencing and championing change.
  19. Using relevant sales data and insights to design commercially relevant, fashion-forward ranges.
  20. Anticipating the needs of the 20-something customer, using sales data, customer profile analytics and trend research to deliver commercial product ranges.
  21. Working closely with in-house Design & Buying teams – collaborating to create fresh product each season and shape the product direction for the department, ensuring that it is aligned to the brand and divisional strategy.

Qualifications

We’d love to meet someone with…

  1. Significant experience in designing print and graphics with a mid to high level brand or high-end Retailer.
  2. Experience of working cross-functionally to deliver initiatives that have a positive commercial impact.
  3. Proven ability to drive the success of a department or brand through strategic and commercial thinking.
  4. A commercial handwriting and strong understanding of the TOPSHOP Brand and Customer.
  5. Experience with Photoshop, Adobe, CAD.
  6. Plugged into relevant culture and fashion, passionate about the product.
  7. Strong organisational skills, initiative, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  8. The ability to build great relationships with colleagues across the business and suppliers alike.
  9. Can gain buy-in from the team and management to potentialize opportunities.
  10. Embraces and champions the benefits of change within the wider team.
  11. Demonstrates an effective and inclusive leadership style, role modelling positive behaviours and providing the team with clear direction and development.
  12. Comfortable travelling in the UK and internationally for supplier/product development meetings and inspirational purposes.
