Job Description
ASOS STUDIOS Senior Photographer
Seniors at ASOS are experienced and skilled leadership figures with a talented eye for all things creative and practical ability for implementation. As one of our Seniors, you will work closely with the Photography Manager and wider senior teams. You will train, mentor, and inspire the team to deliver the best ecommerce assets in the industry for the ASOS product pages, appealing directly to the 20-something customer. You will drive department efficiency while thinking commercially and innovatively. You should have the ability to lead the team with a creative, strategic, and operational mindset.
What you\’ll be doing…
- Reporting directly to the Photography Manager, overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day running of your Photographer team, primarily including product page enrichment of 1000+ products per day.
- Shooting products to a high standard across model and non-model studios.
- Shooting across a range of creative projects including campaigns and social media, using various techniques including mobile.
- Delivering high-quality model direction, ensuring energy, authenticity, and engagement in every shoot. Coaching and developing the team\’s ability to bring out expressive, fashion-forward movements that align with the ASOS aesthetic.
- Ensuring creative implementation, budget adherence, cost per product, and volumetric KPIs.
- Leading a team of Midweight and Junior Photographers, monitoring all processes throughout the day.
- Creating, maintaining, and communicating creative shoot guides from a photography perspective.
- Ensuring Photographers are equipped to meet styling expectations in line with segment requirements.
- Working with Photography Seniors to develop and implement strategic segment evolution based on current trends and fashion relevancy.
- Initiating and leading Photographers\’ pre-planning and preparation for scheduled shoots.
- Overseeing equipment orders and communication with suppliers, ensuring adherence to the monthly team budget.
- Owning workshops and training the team in various creative specialties.
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Tech, to develop photography technologies and oversee equipment upgrades. Championing all aspects of ASOS Studios in every interaction.
- Maintaining and tracking studio equipment, ensuring optimal working condition and timely replacements.
- Direct reporting line of at least 4 team members.
- Monitoring team performance KPIs/SLAs and identifying opportunities for quality and efficiency improvements.
- Conducting regular 1-2-1s with direct reports, reviewing objectives, supporting skill development, and assessing progression.
- Planning for team succession and encouraging growth through objectives and training.
- Leading and contributing to team and departmental meetings.
- Being recognized as an aspirational figure within the team and wider department.
- Guiding the team to follow established processes to meet creative and quality standards aligned with departmental strategy.
- Encouraging authenticity, bravery, and creativity, while adhering to company and departmental strategies.
- Developing and implementing your leadership style and communication in line with ASOS Behaviours policy.
- Collaborating with other Team Leaders to deliver departmental strategy and building strong relationships within the studio team.
- Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, championing ASOS Studios.
- Demonstrating strong brand awareness through market research, trend analysis, and competitor assessment.
- Designing and implementing automated workflows to streamline practices and processes.
- Overseeing departmental technology software and hardware launches.
- Delivering projects aligned with the department strategy and other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Lead and Studio Manager.
- Supporting our culture by championing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies.
Qualifications

- Experience in model and still life product photography
- Understanding of how to execute photography treatments aligned with the ASOS aesthetic
- Highly organized and proactive in decision-making and problem-solving
- Positive, can-do attitude with strong team collaboration skills
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and communication skills
- Strong understanding of lighting and Capture One software
- Proficient in computer skills
