Job Description
Managers at ASOS are the key leadership figures in the smooth, professional and successful running of ASOS Studios. They have an eye for all things creative, a practical ability for implementation and a strategic mindset to deliver departmental and business goals. As one of our leadership team, you will be working closely with the management, wider senior teams and stakeholders across the business. You will lead, mentor and inspire the team to deliver the best models for ecommerce ASOS product pages, as well as campaigns to appeal directly to the 20 something customer. You will drive department efficiency, elevate the model quality whilst thinking commercially and innovatively. You will have the ability to successfully lead a team with a creative, strategic and operational mindset.
What you’ll be doing…
- Reporting directly into the Head of Models & Talent, you will be responsible for all aspects of management of the Model team. This will include ownership of all models booked across 1000+ products per day, as well as the casting for all campaigns and ASOS social platforms.
- Responsible for overseeing the sourcing of best-in class models to strengthen brand message and elevate the product, inspiring the team to be ambitious and brave.
- Applying expert level casting and negotiating skills to constantly improve the quality of models available for the varied shoot briefs within the budgets provided. Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and support the team in successfully managing their workloads.
- Responsible for ensuring the team successfully secures models for all shoot types, delighting both internal and external ASOS stakeholders (including a variety of brands such as CK, Bimba Y Lola, Levis, Nike, Arket and Monki).
- Leading the creative implementation while ensuring budget, cost per product, deadlines and guarantee volumetric KPIs & SLAs are adhered to. Spot opportunities for improvement.
- Possess the relevant industry skill, knowledge, relationships and management to lead the Model Team. Scrutinising all processes throughout the day to day with a strategic overview.
- Demonstrate an excellent ‘eye’ and passion for ASOS models, leading the team by example.
- Guide the model team to resiliently take on new booking processes, deal with model challenges and confidently navigate any changes in shoot briefs.
- Nurture agency and model relationships to ensure we strengthen our position in the market and deliver a best in class booking experience with model welfare as a key priority.
- Responsible for ensuring all Model team are creatively and confidently equipped to deliver expectations in line with strategy; including campaign models, BAU segments and other briefs.
- Ensure the team delivers the key functions in the end-to-end workflow for Model Bookers; including the pre-shoot scheduling as well as on the day shoot/model support.
- Collaborating with the Hair and Makeup Manager to give models the best chance of success for campaigns, creative projects, elevated and focus shoots both in ASOS Studios and on location.
- Working with the other Managers/Leads to develop and implement strategic segment evolution through current trends and fashion relevancy. Responsible for creation, maintenance and communication of creative shoot guides from a casting perspective.
- Collaborating with Head of Models & Talent and other internal stakeholders on future shoot and casting development and relaying direction to team in concise effective way.
- Conducting regular 1-2-1’s with your direct reports. Reviewing personal objectives, ensuring they are supported and guided, and their skill set is developed, and progression assessed. Be accountable that the same is consistently applied to your downline.
- Have a strategic plan for and constantly assess the succession plan within your team at all levels.
- Encouraging team growth and development through objectives and training, ensuring the team are striving to support in the delivery of the department strategy.
- Organise and lead departmental meetings and contribute to external meetings with key stakeholders or suppliers. This could include agency visits and casing trips.
- Be recognised as an aspirational figure within your team and the wider department.
- Lead the team to follow established processes to deliver agreed creative and quality standards in line with departmental strategy.
- Ensure your direct reports are working with PX and internal resources to select, interview and onboard new full-timers.
- Encouraging the team to be authentic, brave and creative and motivate them to follow all company and departmental strategies with the highest levels of engagement.
- Responsible for developing and implementing your leadership style and communication in line with ASOS Behaviours policy.
- Working closely with other Management team and all other levels within ASOS Studios to successfully deliver the department strategy. Build strong, professional and collaborative relationships with the wider studio team.
- Forming strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Championing all aspects of ASOS Studios in every interaction.
- Demonstrating excellent brand awareness by identifying areas for review, researching ideas and assessing competition to ensure we are market leaders.
- Overseeing departmental technology software and hardware development and launches.
- Delivering projects to support the department strategy and any other adhoc tasks and projects defined by the Head of Models & Talent.
