Job Description

The team

At ASOS, our Tax team is more than just numbers, they’re strategic partners driving efficiency, innovation, and impact across the business. From global tax and customs to transfer pricing, VAT, employment taxes, and governance, this team keeps us compliant, agile, and ahead of the curve.

Working hand-in-hand with our tech teams, they harness the power of data and automation to streamline processes and unlock smarter ways of working. Whether it’s mitigating risk, improving systems, or delivering sharp, responsive business advice, the Tax team plays a key role in shaping how ASOS operates globally.

As aSenior Indirect Tax Analyst, you’ll play a key role in managing indirect tax compliance and risk across ASOS’s global operations. You’ll ensure we stay ahead of evolving tax requirements, lead on managing indirect tax risks, and support audits and legislative changes. You’ll oversee end-to-end VAT and Sales Tax compliance and reporting, while spotting opportunities to improve how we work. Partnering closely with our Tax Transformation team, you’ll help deliver smarter, more automated processes that keep us agile and future-ready.

In this role, you will:

  • Support global indirect tax compliance including VAT, Sales Tax, and OSS and working with external advisors and preparing returns in-house where needed.
  • Partner with Finance and Treasuryto ensure accurate accounting, timely payments, and reconciliations.
  • Analyse large datasetsto identify risks, trends, and opportunities, resolving data and systems issues in collaboration with Fintech and Tax Transformation teams.
  • Support tax authority interactions including audits, queries, and documentation requests across Europe and beyond.
  • Champion automation and process improvement, contributing to tax tech projects and ensuring indirect tax processes are documented.

Qualifications

About you

We’re looking for a collaborative and detail-driven indirect tax specialist who brings strong technical expertise and a proactive mindset. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, data-rich environment and be confident navigating complex tax landscapes across multiple jurisdictions.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • An ACCA, ATT or equivalent qualification and solid experience in European indirect tax and US Sales Tax, ideally within retail or e-commerce.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience reconciling large, complex datasets using Excel and tools like Alteryx or Power BI.
  • A logical, detail-oriented approach to presenting data and insights clearly to stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
  • Proven ability to manage your own workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to change with a proactive and flexible mindset.
