Headquartered in London, the Brands have over 2 million customers across the globe through the ASOS platform and generate brand sales of c£200m. Following the formation of a Joint Venture between ASOS and HEARTLAND in October 2024, ASOS is creating a standalone cross-functional team within ASOS which is dedicated to unlocking the huge growth potential of the TOPSHOP and TOPMAN brands. The brands will now benefit from ASOS infrastructure and resources while enjoying the creative freedom and agility of standalone brands.
The next 12 months for TOPSHOP and TOPMAN will see the expansion of the brands’ offline and online retail presence with the launch of Topshop.com and new wholesale partnerships.
Job Description
THE ROLE
As a Senior Designer for Topshop Jersey, you’ll play a pivotal role in one of our hero departments, driving the creative and commercial success of jersey tops through standout product, trend leadership, and strategic range building. You’ll be hands-on in shaping the direction of the category, ensuring it reflects the Topshop brand vision and resonates with our global customer.
Working collaboratively across Design, Merchandising, Buying, Sourcing and Technical team, you will be designing product that reflects the brand strategy and delivers – from volume basics to fashion-forward press pieces.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Researching and developing trends to create a standout jersey range, with a focus on seasonal shapes, fabric innovation, and key pieces for the Topshop customer
- Leading the development of print, graphics, and embellishment direction in collaboration with internal and external partners
- Sourcing new jersey fabrications and techniques across global territories to bring fresh direction to the collection
- Using sales data, customer insights, and market research to inform design decisions and drive commercial success
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and advising on construction, detailing, and artwork execution
- Championing agile ways of working and collaborating across functions to deliver the Topshop vision
We move fast so are in the office at least three days a week to ensure we keep connected, creative, and ahead of the curve.
Qualifications
About You
You’re a creative and commercially minded designer with deep expertise in jersey and a track record of delivering standout product that’s both trend-led, customer-focused and aligned to brand strategy.
Confident in presenting ideas and influencing stakeholders, you lead with a clear design vision that inspires teams and drives the brand forward, balancing innovation with strategic focus to create must-have seasonal pieces.
You’ll also bring:
- Extensive experience in womenswear jersey design, across both basics and fashion-led ranges, ideally within global retail environments
- Strong awareness of global retail trends, market conditions, and customer behaviour
- A strong eye for print, graphics, embroidery, and embellishment, with experience briefing internal teams and external suppliers
- Proven ability to source fabrics and develop product across Far East, India, and European markets
- Deep trend research capabilities and the ability to translate insights into brand-aligned direction
You’ll also play a key role in leading and developing junior team members, giving clear direction, regular feedback, and helping them develop in role.
