Job Description
THE ROLE
We're looking for an organised, detail-driven Social Media Assistant to support the planning and operational side of our social team. This role is all about keeping our channel calendars sharp, our publishing process smooth, and our reporting and tagging accurate — so our campaigns land brilliantly and on time. You'll work closely with the Social Media Executive and Senior Social Media Manager, partnering with our insights team to help us understand performance and embed best practice across everything we do. This is a hybrid office/home role and is not expected to be on set or on shoots but with opportunities should there be the need for on set attendance.
What you'll be doing...
- Own and maintain the social channel calendars across platforms — ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clear visibility of what's going live.
- Support scheduling, publishing and live posting, including checklists, captions, links, and final QA before go-live.
- Coordinate assets and approvals: track deliverables, manage file paths, keep folders tidy, and ensure the right creative is in the right place at the right time.
- Monitor comments and messages daily; flag issues, triage to the right teams, and help keep our community experience consistent.
- Tag products and content accurately on posts and apply campaign labels/taxonomy in Brandwatch (or equivalent platform) to support measurement.
- Support the insights team by keeping campaign tags clean, pulling basic performance metrics, and helping build weekly/monthly reporting.
- Help with deck formatting and updates: keep presentations polished, brand-aligned and easy to follow.
- Support organic boosting and TikTok Spark codes when needed, following agreed guardrails and processes.
- Own admin tasks for the social team: meeting notes, action trackers, diary support, and maintaining best-practice documentation.
- Work hand-in-hand with community management, influencer marketing, paid social and creative teams to amplify campaigns and boost engagement.
This role is for you if…
- You love being the person who keeps everything organised: calendars, trackers, assets, and deadlines.
- You're excited by planning and strategy, and you like thinking about the bigger picture (not just creating content on the day).
- You're comfortable behind the camera and prefer operational excellence over being on-screen.
- You're curious about performance and results, and you enjoy learning how to turn data into actions.
- You're proactive, eager to learn, isn't afraid to ask questions and to take action.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and stay calm when priorities shift.
Qualifications
Who we'd love to meet...
- Some professional experience in a social media, marketing, or admin/support role (e.g., within fashion, beauty, retail, or a creative brand).
- Strong administrative and organisational skills: you're comfortable managing multiple workstreams and keeping details tidy.
- Excellent attention to detail — especially with calendars, tagging, links, file naming, and deadlines.
- Confident communicator (written and verbal) and a collaborative team player.
- Comfortable working with reporting and numbers: pulling metrics, maintaining trackers, and learning insights tools.
- Working knowledge of social platforms and how they differ (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.).
- Experience with scheduling tools and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace (especially PowerPoint and Excel/Sheets).
- Bonus: familiarity with Brandwatch, content tagging/taxonomy, TikTok Spark codes, or organic boosting.
Additional Information
Benefits:
- Employee discount (hello ASOS discount)
- Employee sample sales
- 25 days paid annual leave + an extra celebration day for a special moment
- Discretionary bonus scheme
- Private medical care scheme
- Flexible benefits allowance - which you can choose to take as extra cash, or use towards other benefits
- Opportunity for personalised learning and in-the-moment experiences that enable you to thrive and excel in your role
