The ASOS Hair and Make-Up Team play a crucial role within the production department. You will be working with the wider studio team to ensure that the ASOS models are looking their best at all times! As an ASOS hair & make up artist you will work together with your peers to bring to life the ever-evolving ASOS Creative. You’ll be responsible for making sure every model looks and feels ASOS ready throughout their shoot day!

The role requires an unflappable, driven and hardworking individual with a passion for the brand. You have the ability to successfully be a part of and help support a team with a creative, strategic and operational mindset. It is vital that you are passionate about hairstyling, make up and fashion.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Produce a great standard of hair & make up that is true to the ASOS aesthetic and appeals to the ASOS customer.
  • Be prepared to work to deadlines, ensuring your models are shoot ready on time.
  • Build relationships and rapport with ASOS models to instil trust in your hair & make-up ability and in the wider production department.
  • Deal with any model issues professionally and in line with ASOS behaviours policy.
  • Work alongside the model booking team to maximise each model's potential and create the best ASOS shoot experience.
  • Work with the wider shoot team to solve any issues on set and help facilitate a smooth shoot process.
  • Work under the guidance of your senior to produce, develop & execute the looks.
  • Take on feedback constructively, with an ability to critique your own work efficiently.
  • Attend hair and makeup courses set up by the business to up-skill yourself.
  • Be a responsible member of the studio team facilitating smooth communication to team members across different shoot locations.
  • Follow all creative and operational hair and make-up and wider studio processes.
  • Full understanding of the ASOS customer and target audience.
  • An awareness of the latest and upcoming trends, following each season’s catwalk shows, influencers, Tik Tok, our competitors and street styles.
  • Be prepared to carry out daily administrative tasks.
  • Contribute to problem solving through meetings and 1:1’s with your lead.
  • Maintaining/cleaning equipment and products daily to ensure a professional & sanitary working environment.
  • Contributing to team and departmental meetings.
  • Be recognised as an aspirational figure within your team and the wider department.

Qualifications

  • Previous professional make up artistry skills are essential.
  • Confidence with all skin tones & textures is essential.
  • Experience with all hair texture types including basic experience in wigs, weaves and extensions required.
  • Previous fashion e-commerce experience is favourable.
  • Be a dedicated team player who is eager to learn and can grasp new information quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • To work well under time pressures.
  • Ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment and remain proactive and professional.
  • Be able to rapidly adapt to change and remain positive.
  • Have a great attention to detail in order for you to present the product in the best way possible.
  • Have the eye for both hair and make-up, ensuring the two marry together to create a whole look.
  • Respond positively to feedback and areas of improvement and have the ability to provide solutions where possible.
  • Good time management skills, along with the ability to prioritise daily tasks.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of Excel & Powerpoint.
  • And most of all a willingness to learn, grow and be a team player!
