The Role
Join ASOS as a Buying Assistant and kick start your career in fashion retail! This is the perfect entry-level opportunity for someone eager to learn, grow, and make an impact in one of the most exciting areas of the business. You will play a key role in supporting the Buying team to ensure the right products are developed, sourced, and delivered to our customers. This role is hands-on, admin-heavy, and fast-paced. You will work with large volumes of samples and data, learn multiple systems, and develop a sharp eye for detail. Every task you complete contributes to the bigger picture of shaping our product offering and driving ASOS’s success. You will need to be organised, adaptable, and ready to tackle changing priorities head on.
The Details
- Maintain the critical path and communicate with suppliers to ensure we meet each key date in the trading calendar and product runs on time.
- Manage and keep track of a high volume of samples through fit sessions, development, shoots, and signoff meetings.
- Accurately raise purchase orders in line with supplier/brand deadlines, and manage these throughout the product lifecycle to ensure the range plan is fully up to date.
- Work closely with Merchandising, Design, Production, Technical, Marketing, and your Brands/Suppliers daily.
- Deliver efficient administrative support to the team, ensuring that relevant reports and files are kept up to date at all times.
- Support your Buying team with product development that is customer-focused and aligns with the wider business strategy, with relevant attention to commercialism, costing, and innovation.
- Conduct regular comp shops to understand competitor activity, identify opportunities for the department, and present back ideas to the team.
- Attend relevant systems and soft skills training to drive your development.
- Champion Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies as part of our culture.
We believe being together in person helps us move faster, connect more deeply, and achieve more as a team. That’s why our approach to working together includes spending at least 3 days a week in the office. It’s a rhythm that speeds up decision making, helps ASOSers learn from each other more quickly, and builds the kind of culture where people can grow, create, and succeed.
