About the Role
As an Assistant Designer, you will be working closely with the Senior Designers on ASOS DESIGN FOOTWEAR, supporting to design all areas of shoes, creating trend lead ranges for our twenty something customer. You have the opportunity to thrive with a high energy team, with plenty of opportunities to grow a sought after skill set. The role is in a very exciting department, and we are looking for someone who loves fashion and has an endless enthusiasm for delivering new ideas and researching the latest trends!
What Youll Be Doing
- Researching, developing and designing ranges for ASOS DESIGN Footwear, working across all categories of footwear, for both casual and dressy product areas.
- Identifying key trends, shapes and first to market styles with commerciality in mind, ensuring the most fashion forward range and choice for our global customer base.
- Creating mood and colour boards sharing creative ideas to shape and develop the footwear range, predicting trends for the season. This may include shop, social media, catwalk, street style reports and cultural moments, as well as sourcing new fabrications and trimmings.
- Working alongside the buying teams to react to sales information, present design ideas and develop products to drive the range.
- Building relations with suppliers and advising factories on direction, construction, key details, materials and trims.
- Anticipating the needs of our twenty something customer, using sales data, customer profile analytics and trend research to deliver a commercial product range.
- Adhering to the critical path to achieve deadlines, ensuring products are developed for the relevant and optimum selling period.
- Working with the technical team on initial fits.
- Identifying and helping to problem solve for the department.
- An ability to research and develop unique products, working on long lead time products, as well as quick reaction short lead ranges.
