TOPSHOP and TOPMAN are iconic British fashion brands with 60 years of heritage. Headquartered in London, the Brands have over 2 million customers worldwide via the ASOS platform and generate approximately £200m in brand sales. Our mission is to unlock the best of fashion for everyone, driven by creativity and innovation.

Following the formation of a joint venture between ASOS and HEARTLAND in October 2024, ASOS is establishing a standalone, cross-functional team dedicated to the growth of TOPSHOP and TOPMAN. This team will benefit from ASOS's infrastructure and resources while maintaining the brands' creative independence. In the next 12 months, TOPSHOP and TOPMAN will expand their offline and online retail presence, including the launch of Topshop.com and new wholesale partnerships.

The Assistant Buyer is a vital member of the Buying Team, responsible for developing innovative, fashion-forward, and commercially successful ranges that meet sales and margin targets. You will collaborate closely with your Buyer, Design, Technical, and Merchandising teams, as well as Suppliers and Brands, to create products loved by our fashion-conscious 20-something customers.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the Buyer in sourcing and product development
  • Overseeing sample fitting and approval
  • Assisting in building relevant, trend-driven ranges with continuous newness
  • Building strong supplier relationships, especially for negotiations on costs and delivery
  • Trading within the season to maximize sales and profits, working in a fast-paced environment
  • Contributing to departmental strategy by identifying risks and opportunities based on data and presenting insights to the team
  • Using company levers to influence sales performance
  • Collaborating with Design and Merchandising to analyze sales data and justify range decisions based on trends and trade elements
  • Monitoring global competitors' pricing, products, and current events, and sharing findings with the team
  • Presenting CUM BTA in the absence of the Buyer, highlighting key trading actions
  • Managing the critical path and flagging potential delays
  • Working with Sourcing and Technical teams on sourcing, ethical practices, and fabric considerations related to Fashion with Integrity
  • Overseeing the training and development of Buyers Administrators

  • Pays close attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in pricing, shipment dates, and product attributes
  • Can build strong relationships internally and with suppliers
