Position: Senior Assistant Designer – Menswear (Shirts) at ASOS.com.

Our Design Team shapes ASOS as the go-to fashion destination for style-conscious customers. As a Senior Assistant Designer for Menswear (MW) Shirts, you’ll play a key role in designing and developing menswear ranges. From researching global trends to shaping the season’s key styles, you’ll help create collections that feel fresh, relevant, and exciting for our diverse, fashion-forward customer base. Working closely with teams across ASOS and our supplier network, you’ll bring ideas to life through thoughtful design, smart problem-solving, and a strong commercial lens.

Responsibilities

  • Researching and designing seasonal shirt ranges, exploring shapes, prints, colours, fabrics, and trims to build a compelling offer for our global audience.
  • Using sales data and customer insights to create commercially strong, fashion-forward collections that respond to real-time demand.
  • Identifying emerging menswear trends and translating them into first-to-market product ideas.
  • Collaborating with Technical teams to support fit development and resolve design challenges.
  • Partnering with suppliers to guide construction, materials, and key design details.
  • Managing timelines using PLM systems and aligning with the critical path to ensure timely product delivery.
  • Balancing long-lead development with quick-response ranges to keep our offer fresh and agile.

Qualifications

We’re excited to meet someone who brings creativity, curiosity, and a strong sense of style to the team. You’re tuned into cultural movements and street style, with a genuine passion for menswear and a collaborative approach to design. You’re confident navigating fast-paced environments, building relationships across teams and with suppliers, and sharing ideas that push boundaries while staying commercially focused.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience designing for aspirational or high street fashion brands, with a focus on menswear.
  • A sharp eye for trends and a strong understanding of fabrics, fit, and garment construction.
  • Confidence working with global suppliers and sourcing partners.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and CAD.
  • Willingness to travel in the UK and internationally for supplier meetings and inspiration.
