Job Description
- Develop and execute overarching category strategy, applying deep industry and ASOS tech knowledge to define mid‑ and long‑term strategy to optimise spend and business outcomes.
- Autonomously define and manage a varied work stack of strategic, complex and high‑value add procurement activity.
- Optimise technology procurement across multiple projects simultaneously, aligning efforts with business priorities.
- Build and lead relationships with stakeholders across the business up to c‑suite level, providing commercial and thought leadership. Be seen as the SME for technology procurement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners to drive incremental value to ASOS.
- Identify and deliver a pipeline of savings opportunities, reporting and updating on achievements. Use SME knowledge to deliver against opportunities outside direct negotiation to optimise ASOS outcomes (savings or value generation) including process improvements.
- Proactively identify pragmatic and ‘right fit’ sourcing strategies within business capacity, complexity, value and risk.
- Manage corporate risk by identifying supplier risk areas, quantifying risk exposure and executing risk mitigation actions.
- Manage, coach and develop team members.
- Support our culture by championing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies.
Qualifications – About You
- Experience working within a fast‑paced procurement environment with multiple competing priorities, autonomously defining, managing and prioritising across high workload.
- Deep experience working across a broad spectrum of technology requirements.
- Ability to apply the right ‘efforts’ subject to complexity and value of projects while retaining stakeholder support.
- Proven track record taking ownership of technology subcategories, developing right‑fit strategies mid‑to‑long term and executing against longer‑term plans.
- Proven track record autonomously running strategic, high‑spend RFPs with tight timelines.
- A thorough understanding of all relevant procurement systems and tools, proactively providing input to the centre of excellence on improvement opportunities.
- Relevant experience or completion of CIP certification.
- Ability to pivot quickly and prioritise effectively within a dynamic environment susceptible to change.
- Ability to face and resolve multiple complex issues collaboratively.
- A down‑to‑earth character that takes people on a journey of cultural change.
- Strong communication skills to forge relationships with suppliers and stakeholders that are fit for purpose and positively represent procurement.
- Great analytical, administrative and presentation skills.
- Experience managing or coaching more junior members of the team.
- Confidence and motivation to work independently while ensuring senior stakeholders and management are appropriately informed or consulted as required.
- A strong passion for learning and the confidence to challenge the status quo.
