The Details: As a Customs Compliance Senior Analyst in our Tax team, you'll help safeguard ASOS's cross-border operations and keep our fashion flowing globally – compliant, efficient and future-ready. You'll be part of a team split across the UK and Germany, supporting the delivery of ASOS's customs compliance priorities. You'll work closely with teams across Product, Supply Chain, Logistics and Tech, as well as with suppliers, customs agents and logistics partners, to make sure our customs processes run smoothly and consistently.

This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape how customs compliance works at a fast-paced online retailer. With a growing and increasingly complex customs footprint, you'll have plenty of room to develop your career and make real impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Driving and continually improving ASOS's customs compliance programme — carrying out audit checks on classification, valuation, origin, export and customs warehouse procedures, and ensuring swift, effective remediation.
  • Supporting the Customs Compliance Managers with clear, well-prepared responses to customs authority enquiries and audits.
  • Managing accurate UK, EU and US customs master data, including commodity codes, duty rates and preference tables.
  • Keeping on top of global customs legislation changes and sharing relevant updates quickly with teams across ASOS.
  • Partnering with the Tax Transformation Lead, Supply Chain and Customs Operations to streamline customs processes, improve data quality and deliver automation projects.
  • Creating and maintaining targeted customs training and guidance for teams across the business.
  • Helping to maintain key customs authorisations, including AEO and customs warehousing.
  • Building strong relationships with third‐party providers, ensuring high performance and resolving issues promptly.
  • Contributing to a wide range of projects and business initiatives across the UK and international markets.
  • Providing practical, timely customs advice to stakeholders across the business.
  • Supporting our culture by championing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies.

We believe being together in person helps us move faster, connect more deeply, and achieve more as a team. That's why our approach to working together includes spending at least 3 days a week in the office. It's a rhythm that speeds up decision-making, helps ASOSers learn from each other more quickly, and builds the kind of culture where people can grow, create, and succeed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in customs compliance, ideally gained within a customs authority, consultancy or in‐house within a large or complex organisation.
  • Solid technical understanding of core customs concepts, including classification, valuation, origin and duty reliefs.
  • Proven ability to engage and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, simplifying complex customs requirements for non‐experts.
  • Knowledge of customs special procedures and authorisations (e.g. Customs Warehousing, SCDP, AEO) is a distinct advantage.
  • Confidence working with and analysing large datasets.
  • Strong Excel skills, with experience in Power BI, SQL or Alteryx an advantage.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams, building strong business relationships.
  • A proactive, solutions‐focused mindset, with the confidence to question and challenge.
