At ASOS, you will be part of the Hair and Make-Up Team within the production department. You will work with the wider studio team to ensure ASOS models look their best at all times. You will collaborate with peers to bring to life the evolving ASOS Creative, ensuring each model looks and feels ASOS-ready throughout their shoot day. The role requires a driven, hardworking individual with a passion for the brand and for hair, makeup and fashion.

The role also involves supporting a team with a creative, strategic and operational mindset, maintaining a professional and sanitary working environment, and contributing to team and departmental processes and communication across shoot locations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Produce a high standard of hair and makeup true to the ASOS aesthetic and appealing to the ASOS customer.
  • Be prepared to work to deadlines and ensure models are shoot-ready on time.
  • Build relationships with ASOS models to instil trust in your hair and makeup ability and in the wider production department.
  • Handle model issues professionally in line with ASOS behaviours policy.
  • Collaborate with the model booking team to maximise each model’s potential and create the best ASOS shoot experience.
  • Work with the wider shoot team to resolve on-set issues and facilitate a smooth shoot process.
  • Work under the guidance of your senior to produce, develop and execute looks.
  • Take feedback constructively and critique your own work efficiently.
  • Attend hair and makeup courses organised by the business to up-skill yourself.
  • Communicate effectively within the studio team across different shoot locations.
  • Follow all creative, operational hair and makeup and wider studio processes.
  • Maintain understanding of the ASOS customer and target audience.
  • Stay aware of current trends by following season shows, influencers and street styles.
  • Carry out daily administrative tasks as required.
  • Contribute to problem solving through meetings and one-to-ones with your lead.
  • Maintain/clean equipment and products daily to ensure a professional and sanitary environment.
  • Contribute to team and departmental meetings.
  • Be recognised as an aspirational figure within your team and the wider department.

Qualifications:

  • Previous professional makeup artistry skills are essential.
  • Confidence with all skin tones and textures is essential.
  • Experience with all hair textures; basic experience in wigs, weaves and extensions required.
  • Previous fashion e-commerce experience is favourable.
  • Dedicated team player who is eager to learn and can grasp new information quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under time pressure.
  • Ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment and remain proactive and professional.
  • Ability to adapt to change and remain positive.
  • Strong attention to detail to present the product well.
  • Good eye for both hair and makeup to create a cohesive look.
  • Respond positively to feedback and provide solutions where possible.
  • Good time management and ability to prioritise daily tasks.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to learn, grow and be a team player.
