Job Description
As the Digital Trading manager, you will be responsible for driving the near to long-term online merchandising strategy. The role requires you to have a comprehensive understanding of the ecommerce marketplace and industry best practices. The position is responsible for helping to optimise the website across all devices, influencing the end-to-end customer journey increasing conversion and driving sales.
The role will be highly collaborative, with key stakeholders including, regional trade, trade marketing, content & visual teams, buying, merchandising, as well as technology and analytics.
Ideally you will have strong e-commerce experiences, with a good commercial understanding and an analytical skillset to drive key business decisions. We are looking for someone who is highly entrepreneurial and enjoys working in a fast-pace environment, where being agile is key.
As this will be a strategic market role focused on France, Italy & Spain we are looking for a manager with experience within this market, preferably with a professional working proficiency of French language.
Digital Trade Manager will manage the Digital Trading Assistants and Digital Trading Specialists and will report into the Head of EU&ROW Geo.
The Details

  • Work with Head of Geo to build a market relevant onsite strategy for the French Market
  • Leading by example, owning and managing Digital Trading activities for France; analyse site performance, customer behaviour and competitor trends to drive insights and trading actions.
  • Accountable onsite navigation and customer journey, as well collaborating on getting the best content for the market. Adopting a test and learn approach to ensure sites are optimised to our French customer
  • Responsible for the management of the browse journey, working with numerous stakeholders including in Geo teams, Central team, Tech and AI, to configure and develop systems and capabilities
  • Continuous improvement of onsite rules and rankings, working with Head of Geo and Geo Team to understand and implement site changes in response to market performance.
  • Oversees the site standards and ensures the customer journey is as seamless as possible across all onsite touch points
  • Detailed technical proficiency across all systems in the Digital Trading space, working to maximise areas of opportunity and working with Head Of & Central trading teams to determine requirements for technical roadmap
  • Working cross functionally with multiple teams including, but not limited to, Marketing, Commercial and Technology, to continuously drive the market/markets forwards. A key focus on working collaboratively with Trade Marketing, Content and Regional Trading Manager for their specific market
  • Leads cross-functionally to drive Digital Trading priorities and support the successful execution of the Southern European strategy for their region
  • Leads a team of Digital Trading Specialist & Assistant. Responsible for their development and growth in the business
  • Improve on our technical capabilities by working with stakeholders to understand and maximise and develop the use of tools and systems, testing new features and upgrades
  • Experienced CMS user and uses technical expertise to manage technical backlog to drive system and tool develop and supports DCL with the diving the DC roadmap forwards.
  • Manages the roll out and validation of new features & system upgrades
  • Understand previous campaigns and consider local market trading moments to appreciate the performance of each piece of activity and based on this, make recommendations as to how to build on the results for the next iteration
  • Leads analysis across website(s) and app(s) within a region and/or hub and is able to pull and interpret in-depth analysis, using data to suggest and implement improvements to the customer journey
  • Support the Head of Geo in developing and evaluating a test and learn strategy, across PLP, Navigation and Search; feeding all insights gained from regular reporting back
  • Promotes a data-led test and learn approach, implementing optimisation strategies to improve the browse journey; PLP, Nav, Search

Qualifications
About You

  • A solid grasp of ASOS’ vision and Digital Trading’s toolset and processes
  • Identifying more efficient ways to carry out existing tasks
  • Understand multiple market variances
  • High standard of work produced in a fast-paced environment
  • Seen as a trusted and well-informed ambassador for the EU Geo
  • Previous experience within Digital Trading role at an agency or retailer
  • Ability to translate customer trends and mindset into cohesive onsite content and trading strategies
  • An in-depth understanding of data driven merchandising
  • Previous analytical experience, preferably in either Adobe, GA or Content Square
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work without guidance
  • The ability to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to effectively prioritise workload
  • Experience trouble shooting and solving difficult and sometimes technical problems
  • Strong attention to detail, quality and accuracy imperative
