Following the formation of a Joint Venture between ASOS and Heartland in October 2024, ASOS hascreateda standalone cross-functional team within ASOS which is dedicated to unlocking the huge growth potential of the TOPSHOP and TOPMAN brands.

We are looking for a passionate and fashion-focused Tailoring Designer to join the Topshop Design team and lead the creative vision for our Tailoring category.
This role is responsible for developing trend-led, commercially successful collections that reinforce Topshop's position as a fashion authority while delivering product that resonates with our global customer.
As a Tailoring Designer, you will combine a strong creative point of view with deep product expertise, translating emerging fashion trends into distinctive collections across tailored separates and modern wardrobe essentials.
You will partner closely with Buying, Technical, Product Development and Supply Chain teams to ensure designs are innovative, customer-focused and executed to the highest standard.

- What You'll Be Doing
- Drive the creative direction and design strategy for the Tailoring category, ensuring collections align with the Topshop brand vision and customer.
- Research global fashion trends, catwalks, street style, cultural movements, social media insights and competitor activity to identify emerging opportunities.
- Demonstrate a strong awareness of emerging trends and cultural shifts, translating insight into product that keeps Topshop at the forefront of fashion.
- Develop seasonal concepts, colour palettes, fabric direction, silhouettes, key items and styling approaches.
- Design and deliver commercially relevant, fashion-led multi-product tailoring ranges that reflect the Topshop brand vision and customer.
- Interpret trends into clear product opportunities that balance innovation, fashion credibility and commercial performance.
- Partner with Buying to build strong ranges that deliver both fashion impact and commercial success.
- Create detailed design packs, CADs and technical briefs to support accurate product development and supplier communication.
- Work closely with Product Development and suppliers to source and develop fabrics, trims and finishes that elevate product quality and value perception.
- Own category fit, proportion and silhouette direction, partnering with Technical teams through fittings to achieve the best possible customer fit.
- Analyse trade performance, customer feedback and market trends to inform future design decisions and maximise category performance.
- Present seasonal concepts, trend direction and product reviews confidently to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver products on time, within cost parameters and to the required quality standards.
- Champion innovation within tailoring, identifying opportunities to evolve the category and maintain Topshop's position as a fashion authority.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in a Tailoring Design role, ideally within a fast-paced fashion retailer or contemporary fashion brand.
- Excellent understanding of tailoring construction, fit principles, fabrications and garment finishing techniques.
- Proven ability to identify emerging trends and translate insight into commercially successful product.
- Strong understanding of the Topshop customer and a passion for fashion, culture and emerging trends.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance creativity, customer demand and business objectives.
- Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and CAD development.
- Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
- A strong design portfolio demonstrating tailoring expertise, trend-led thinking and a clear creative point of view.
