Role
This role reports to the manager for the Customer Journey team within Financial Accounting (FA) and has one direct report. The role is split between owning our cash payments process (tracking and posting non-automated payments across the business) and liaising closely with Accounts Payable, Treasury, and Tax. It also covers the Group\\\’s bank reconciliation process and includes some IFRS 15 responsibilities, including recognition of our Partner Fulfils commissions and the company-wide returns provision.

The team enables ASOS to be its best self by driving long-term growth, implementing strong processes and controls, supporting shorter-term goals, and building and defining new ways of doing finance.
What you\\\’ll be doing
Financial Accounting
- Recording and analysing manual payments, ensuring they are correctly posted into our financial systems and reconciled to bank
- Monitoring payment accounts to ensure appropriate sign-off
- Clearing reconciling items from payments and receipts bank accounts and tracking KPIs, supporting finance analysts and stakeholders
- Recording and communicating system issues, taking ownership to support the team
- Guiding and mentoring finance analysts in the CJ team and wider FA team
- Understanding and posting our monthly returns provision, challenging applicable financial standards, and working with Commercial Finance to understand drivers
- Posting and tracking Partner Fulfils payments and related commissions, then completing bank reconciliations
- Seeking continuous improvement through technology/automation to improve ways of working, controls, and processes
- Collaborating with the business and wider finance teams to understand accounting implications of business initiatives and associated changes from requirements through testing to implementation
Financial Control
- Producing month-end bank reconciliations, overall bank position, and revenue-to-cash reconciliation
- Contributing to the financial control pack for cash, feed checks, and returns provision
- Ensuring accounting memos and policies remain up to date and capture cash-impacting projects
- Maintaining a robust financial control environment, from posting journals to assisting with external audit activity at half year and year-end
Office and working arrangement

Qualifications
- An accounting qualification (preferably ACA or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of IFRS
- A proven ability to plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines
- Advanced skills in Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Proactiveness in organising own work and taking initiative
- Good communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
