  • PURPOSE

The Service Centre Planner is the central coordination point between Operations, Sales, Transport, Installation and Supply Chain.

The role is responsible for translating customer demand into structured, forward-looking operational plans that align labour, materials, assets and capacity to deliver safe, efficient and cost-effective service operations.

By maintaining planning discipline and ensuring operational readiness, the role supports consistent service delivery, maximises resource utilisation and drives operational performance across the network.

Through effective planning, scheduling and collaboration across multiple functions, we ensure service commitments are achieved while continuously improving productivity, quality, cost control and customer satisfaction.

  • YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain rolling operational plans (minimum D+0 to D+21) to provide forward visibility of workload.
  • Sequence and schedule work to maximise productivity, minimise downtime and eliminate reactive planning.
  • Align operational plans with demand forecasts and service delivery commitments.
  • Balance labour, workshop capacity and resources to ensure achievable operational plans.
  • Identify capacity constraints and escalate risks to enable proactive intervention.
  • Translate sales forecasts into deliverable operational plans through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP/SIOP) processes by aligning demand with operational capability.
  • Challenge unrealistic demand assumptions to protect service performance.
  • Optimise the use of stock, fleet and operational assets while minimising external hire costs.
  • Maintain accurate stock visibility to support effective planning decisions.
  • Ensure planning discipline by preventing unplanned work from entering the schedule.
  • Monitor plan adherence and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Standardise planning processes across service centres to improve consistency.
  • Track and analyse operational performance metrics including labour, materials and throughput.
  • Identify root causes of performance variances and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify operational risks early and develop contingency plans to maintain service continuity.
  • Maintain accurate planning data and support improvements to planning systems and tools.
  • Act as the central coordination point between Operations, Sales, Transport, Installation and Supply Chain.
  • Communicate plans, priorities and constraints clearly to ensure organisational alignment.

Experience

  • Proven experience in operational or production
  • planning within a manufacturing, construction or modular environment.
  • Experience working within multi-site or high-volume operational environments.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across multiple business functions in a matrix organisation.

  • Sound understanding of production planning, scheduling, workforce planning and quality control.
