Indaver is at the forefront of sustainable waste management in Europe, providing high-quality, cost-effective solutions in municipal, industrial, and hazardous waste sectors. Operating across Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Portugal, the UK, and Ireland, we specialize in Total Waste Management and Waste-to-Energy solutions. This position is based at our Rivenhall Facility in Essex, a state-of-the-art plant that processes approximately 595,000 tonnes of residual waste per year, generating electricity to power around 60,000 homes.
The Production Operator works within a 24 hour/365 days per year 5-shift rota system, and in conjunction with the Shift Team Leader and Deputy Shift Team Leader, is responsible for all production and operational coordination activities required to operate the Rivenhall facility in a safe, efficient and compliant manner. The Production Operator is also responsible for the creation and maintenance of a safe working environment for anyone working within the Rivenhall facility, in accordance with the Mechanical & Electrical Safety Rules.
Role & Responsibilities- Monitoring and management of personal safety measures.
- Monitoring and management of the technical and operational safety of the facility.
- Drive a Safety First culture across the facility.
- Required to operate as an Authorised Person within the Mechanical & Electrical Safety Rules.
- Take appropriate actions to ensure the facility operates in a safe and environmentally responsible way.
- Ensure emissions are within the prescribed limits.
- Delivery of annual production elements; Waste Throughput, Electricity Export & Heat Take-off.
- Management of Bunker levels and conditions to maximise homogeneity of waste and efficient operations within the Tipping Hall.
- Compliant and safe residue disposal operations.
- Maintenance and external compliance monitoring activities are executed in accordance with pre-approved plans at a time and in a manner that minimises operational losses within the facility.
- Identify potential projects and work with the Shift Team Leader to define the technical and business case for the project.
- SVQ/HNC/HND educated, in a technical or process related area of study but applicable experience will be acceptable in lieu of qualifications.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience of working within an Integrated Safe System of Work is desirable.
- Knowledge and experience of using computer based interfaces, ideally where those interfaces operate some form of control function.
- Interest in, and understanding of, complex multi-faceted mechanical and/or electrical systems.
- Demonstrating concern for people, safety and the environment.
