Help make homes warmer, greener and more energy efficient across the East Midlands. The East Midlands has ambitious plans to improve the energy efficiency of homes, reduce carbon emissions and support green jobs and skills. We're looking for a motivated Project Support Officer – Domestic Retrofit to help deliver the East Midlands Retrofit Strategy and support the region's transition to more sustainable homes.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with project support experience who is interested in retrofit, sustainability or energy efficiency and is keen to develop their career in a growing and high-impact area. Working alongside technical experts, local authorities, housing providers and industry partners, you'll help coordinate projects, build partnerships and support programmes that make a real difference to people and communities across the region.

About the role

As Project Support Officer, you'll provide project and administrative support across a range of domestic retrofit initiatives, helping to deliver projects that improve home energy efficiency and build the capacity of the East Midlands retrofit sector. You'll support programme planning, stakeholder engagement, reporting and governance while working closely with partners including housing providers, contractors, training providers, community organisations and local authorities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys organising projects, analysing information and working collaboratively to deliver positive outcomes.

What you'll be doing

  • Support the day-to-day delivery of projects within the East Midlands Retrofit Strategy.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination and monitoring of retrofit programmes and commissioned projects.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with housing providers, contractors, local authorities, training providers and community organisations.
  • Support the identification of funding opportunities and potential collaborative projects.
  • Collect, analyse and present project performance information to support decision-making.
  • Prepare reports, briefings and presentation materials for senior colleagues and stakeholder groups.
  • Support procurement activity, including preparing specifications and tender documentation.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops and stakeholder events, including providing secretariat support for the East Midlands Retrofit Strategy Steering Group.
  • Research emerging policy, best practice and innovation from across the UK to help inform programme development.
  • Represent EMCCA at meetings, conferences and engagement events where appropriate.

What we're looking for

  • We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enthusiastic about supporting projects that contribute to a greener future.
  • A broad understanding of domestic retrofit and the role it plays in improving energy efficiency and supporting the green economy.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience using data to identify trends, produce insights and support informed decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting projects or programmes and contributing to successful delivery.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience supporting the development or delivery of projects within the public, housing, construction, sustainability or energy sectors.
  • Experience preparing reports, briefings or performance information for managers or stakeholders.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering one of the East Midlands' most important sustainability programmes while developing your career in a rapidly growing sector. You'll work with experienced colleagues and partners across housing, construction, skills and local government to help improve homes, reduce carbon emissions and support the transition to a low-carbon economy.

  • Working together – building trusted relationships and delivering through collaboration.

If you're looking for a varied role where you can develop your project management skills, work with a diverse range of partners and contribute to creating warmer, greener homes across the East Midlands, we'd love to hear from you.
