About the Role
At ASM, we’re looking for an organised and customer-focused EU Buyer/Buyer Assistant to join our Operations team.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement and fulfilment process for software and hardware solutions, ensuring orders are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with company procedures.
You’ll work closely with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders to keep orders moving, resolve issues proactively and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
This role supports our European customer base, therefore fluency in both English and French is essential. German language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.

Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for
- Raising purchase orders from approved requisitions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Managing the end-to-end order lifecycle, ensuring orders are processed accurately and within agreed service levels.
- Expediting purchase orders with suppliers and proactively following up on outstanding orders.
- Liaising with suppliers via phone, email and online portals to obtain order updates and expected delivery dates.
- Monitoring supplier commitments and escalating delays where appropriate.
- Providing customers with accurate order updates, estimated delivery dates and excellent customer service throughout the order lifecycle.
- Troubleshooting supplier and customer issues, identifying solutions and driving resolution.
- Processing electronic software deliveries in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Ensuring customers receive all required licensing, activation and fulfilment information.
- Generating customer invoices accurately and investigating invoice queries where required.
- Maintaining accurate records within ERP, CRM and purchasing systems.
- Building strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, logistics partners, finance teams and internal stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, automation and customer experience.
About You
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively with customers, suppliers and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly.
You’ll ideally have
- Fluent English and French language skills (essential).
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, customer service or a similar operational role.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence communicating with customers and suppliers by telephone.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Experience using ERP, CRM or purchasing systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- The ability to build positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to identify better ways of working.
