CGC Event Caterers are on the lookout for a Head of Bars and Retail to join our incredible team at one of the country’s most prestigious racing venues, York Racecourse! Often catering for up to 40,000 racegoers on a race day and hosting wide variety of premier non race day events including exhibitions, conferences, banqueting, parties and weddings, the Head of Bars and Retail willmanage and drive the implementation and delivery of retail food and drink operations for both race day and non-race day events.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing the drinks operations across all race days and C&E
- Manage the day-to-day administration of K Stock – drink stock management system.
- Maintain and manage beverage supplier relationships
- Complete product orders in a timely manner using KStock & Epos historical data to produce these orders to ensure no stock outs for race days and events.
- Liaise with the commercial team to ensure customers’ requirements are catered for.
- Ensure the Bars team complete thorough cellar management including, line cleaning stock control and equipment maintenance.
- Deliver and identify training for the Bars team- i.e the perfect pour.
- Develop the retail offer both in terms of enhancing the presentation of outlets and the quality of the products delivered.
- Work with our F&B development team to continually develop ranging to drive sales and GP working with departments to deliver GP.
- Oversee and manage retail, conference and banqueting events as allocated by the head of F&B.
- Deliver good quality food and beverage products & service and develop the retail offer to enhance the customer experience.
- Understand market trends to develop and enhance our offer and delivery.
Person Specification
- Experience of high volume multi bar management.
- 5 years’ Bar & Cellar management experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to make key decisions.
- Ambitious, energetic and a great team player.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel.
- Personal license holder
- Experience of working with Epos and stock management systems.
- Comfortable with manual handling.
- Forklift license preferable but not essential.
- Excellent knowledge of licensing law.
