Main Purpose of Metal Finishing Deburr / Polishing Technician
To carry out precision deburring and polishing of high-spec metal components to exacting quality standards using both manual and mechanical finishing methods.
Responsibilities of Metal Finishing Deburr / Polishing Technician
- Perform manual and machine-assisted deburring, polishing, and finishing of metal components
- Operate vibrating deburring machines and ensure optimal surface finish is achieved
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometres, verniers, and depth gauges to verify tolerances
- Interpret engineering drawings and follow detailed work instructions
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the finishing area
- Perform quality checks and document results in accordance with inspection procedures
Experience / Knowledge for the Metal Finishing Deburr / Polishing Technician
- Proven experience in a similar metal finishing, deburring or polishing role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Skilled in the use of vibrating deburring equipment and familiar with various finishing techniques
- Competent in the use of hand tools and measuring instruments such as micrometres, verniers, and depth gauges
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
