Main Purpose of Metal Finishing Deburr / Polishing Technician

To carry out precision deburring and polishing of high-spec metal components to exacting quality standards using both manual and mechanical finishing methods.

Responsibilities of Metal Finishing Deburr / Polishing Technician

  • Perform manual and machine-assisted deburring, polishing, and finishing of metal components
  • Operate vibrating deburring machines and ensure optimal surface finish is achieved
  • Use precision measuring equipment including micrometres, verniers, and depth gauges to verify tolerances
  • Interpret engineering drawings and follow detailed work instructions
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the finishing area
  • Perform quality checks and document results in accordance with inspection procedures

Experience / Knowledge for the Metal Finishing Deburr / Polishing Technician

  • Proven experience in a similar metal finishing, deburring or polishing role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Skilled in the use of vibrating deburring equipment and familiar with various finishing techniques
