ASL Technical are working in partnership with a cutting-edge electronics manufacturer to recruit an Electronics Quality Inspector / Electronics Technician. This role is ideal for someone with a background in PCB production, inspection, test, or quality control, who takes pride in delivering high-reliability products for regulated industries such as medical, automotive, and aerospace.
The Role
As an Electronics Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring electronic assemblies meet IPC-A-610 standards and internal quality requirements. You will be responsible for inspection, test, documentation, and supporting continuous improvement activities across the production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Visual inspection of surface mount and through-hole PCB assemblies to IPC-A-610
- Operation of AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) and X-ray inspection equipment
- First-off, in-process, and final inspection of PCBAs, sub-assemblies, and finished units
- Basic functional and dimensional checks using microscopes, callipers, and test fixtures
Quality & Documentation
- Inspection against controlled drawings, build packs, and specifications
- Accurate recording of inspection results, defects, and non-conformances
- Identification and escalation of recurring quality issues and defect trends
Support & Continuous Improvement
- Collaboration with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams
- Support with RMA investigations and inspection of reworked assemblies
- Promote best practice and a strong quality culture on the shop floor
Rework & Compliance
- Maintain strict ESD and EPA compliance
About You
- Experience as an Electronics Technician, Quality Inspector, or PCB Inspector
- Strong understanding of PCB assembly processes and electronic components
- IPC-A-610 knowledge or certification (training available if required)
- Confident reading engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Experience with AOI and X-ray inspection is highly desirable
- Comfortable working in a regulated, high-quality manufacturing environment
